End of Year FUN :)

Hello Parents,

The end of the year is coming! We wanted to take a moment to review the activities that we have planned to celebrate the fabulous year we have had.

Please look over the dates & times carefully!

Monday
June 10

Carnival**
When: 12:30 until 3:00 (BOTH AM and PM class attend ONLY AT THIS TIME)
What: LOTS of fun indoor and outdoor activities planned J

Tuesday
June 11

Sunshine Safari
When: Regular class times
What: Children are to bring their favorite stuffed animal as we conclude our animal theme with this fun day!

Wednesday
June 12

Teddy Bear Picnic**
When: Regular class times
What: We conclude our year with cumulative activities that review all the things we learned in kindergarten with the central theme of TEDDY BEARS! Kiddos are asked to bring a teddy bear so we can practice these skills (measuring, sorting, classifying, etc.) and a picnic-style snack (big enough to share with your teddy!).

** DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER, CARNIVAL DAY MAY BE CHANGED TO WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12.
If the weather forecast for Monday, June 10 is cold & rainy, we will change the carnival day to WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12! Teachers WILL E-MAIL parents on SUNDAY, JUNE 9 by 7:00PM to confirm time & date for Carnival Day. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ON SUNDAY!!!

Wednesday, June 12 is the last day of Kindergarten. Thank you for such a great year! Please e-mail me if you have any questions regarding the end of the year activities :)

Sharks, Dolphins, Fish and Whales!

I'm looking out the classroom window and it is beautiful! But this weekend they say it is going to rain and rain... It seems appropriate for me to share with you that this week we are talking about water animals. We were able to discuss some of our favorite water animals yesterday - the hammerhead shark seemed to be a popular one! We will continue to learn about different water animals and hopefully some of our questions can be answered along this journey (questions like: Why is the killer whale called a killer whale?)!
If there are any artifacts you have at home related to this weeks' theme (like a shark's tooth on a string?), bring them by to the classroom! Artifacts are great ways to spark discussion and make the topic a little more tangible.

We are having a great week so far! The children are eager to learn about the animals and, since we are all members of the Save the Earth club, the more we know the more we can do to help!

Have a great week!

Things that start with g... ghost, giggling, going, goat, girl, gravy and ghost!

Hi Parents,

We have had fun working through the alphabet doing Think, Pair, Share. I am still amazed at the things the kiddos come up with (and how they draw)! Seriously, thinking of the word "going" and drawing a race car going down the racetrack is just incredible! These kiddos are so smart!

Here are some snapshots of the past couple of weeks :)

Think, Pair, Share

A big THANK YOU to parents who helped colour our t-shirts for the 50th anniversary!

IMPORTANT REMINDER: On Thursday May 9th, the Raymond Elementary School is celebrating its 50th Anniversary! The children have been practicing their performance piece Surfin’ in the USA by the Beach Boys (released in 1963) for quite some time!
In order for all of the students to have the opportunity to be involved in the celebrations, some changes had to be made and there will be NO PM CLASS.

Thank you :)
